Melanin in the Snowy Mountains
Updated: Mar 19
7 or 8 years ago I told my bff that I wanted to take a weekend trip in the mountains surrounded by beautiful white snow. I envisioned being in a cabin with my closest friends, sipping on a cup of hot cocoa topped with marshmallows in the most fashionably coordinated ski outfit. My intention was NOT to ski but simply look the part, take amazing photos, with no communication to the outside world surrounded by my girls.
I received a call from my bff in September saying "WE ARE GOING TO THE MOUNTAINS". Now I remember saying this was a bucket list trip years ago but HONEY my blood, body and bones have aged and I wasn't sure about a trip to the snowy, cold mountains of TORONTO, CANADA in the middle of New York City's winter months but I agreed. A trip with my best friend is always a great idea and now that I am home, safe and warm I'll tell you all the items I had in my bag and the things I didn't think of or regretted not bringing .
Base layers (thermals) : This should be at the top of your list
Hand and feet warmers
Water proof winter boots
The one thing I forgot that I truly regret are ski socks. I am a novelty sock type of girl; I do not like thick socks. However my toes when going tubing were freezing and the feet warmers alone just didn't do the job.
P.S. We stayed at Blue Mountain Ski Resort
